Terms of Service

These terms cover use of Audiophile Compare. Audiophile Compare is run by an individual, not a registered company. By using the service you agree to them.

The service

Audiophile Compare lets you run blind A/B listening tests to compare hi-fi systems, components, or recordings, and lets other people vote on what they hear without knowing which clip is which until you choose to reveal it.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Please use one account per person — voting is limited to one vote per person per listening technique on each test.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you submit — systems, snapshots, tracks, tests, clip links, and votes. Publishing a test makes it visible to anyone in the public feed. You're responsible for making sure any clip URL you submit doesn't infringe anyone's rights — the service only links to media hosted elsewhere and doesn't host or review it.

Acceptable use

Don't submit illegal or infringing content, don't create multiple accounts to manipulate vote counts, and don't harass other users.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. Clip links point to third-party hosted media, which can occasionally become unreachable — this is outside the service's control.

Liability

I'm not liable for decisions you make about hi-fi purchases based on test outcomes, or for the availability of third-party hosted media.

Ending your use

You can delete your own tests, snapshots, and systems yourself, as long as nothing else depends on them (a test that's already been voted on, a snapshot still referenced by a test, or a system that still has any snapshot, can't be deleted). Accounts or content may also be removed for abuse of the service.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the update.
